世衛組織：醫療費用使1億人口陷入貧困

The World Health Organization says medical bills push 100 million people into poverty each year.

世界衛生組織說，每年有1億人因為醫療費用而陷入貧困。

A WHO report released Monday says millions of people do not get the health care services they need because they cannot afford it.

世界衛生組織星期一公布的一份報告說，數百萬人因付不起醫療費而得不到他們所需要的醫療服務。

The report adds that health care systems worldwide waste up to 40 percent of their funds through corruption, overpaying, mistakes and hospital-related inefficiencies. It says some places pay 67 times more than the international average price for medicines, leaving less money for other health services.

這份報告還說，由于腐敗、支付超過應付的金額、差錯以及與醫院相關的低效服務，世界各地的醫療系統高達40%的資金被浪費。報告說，一些地方的藥品價格比國際平均水平高67倍，導致其它醫療服務資金減少。

The World Health Organization says lower income countries will need help from the international community to meet their health needs. It says these poorer countries need to spend an average of $44 dollars per person to ensure a small set of quality health services, but many are spending less than $35 per person on health care.

世界衛生組織說，比較低收入的國家將需要國際社會的幫助，才能滿足它們的醫療需求。該組織說，這些比較貧窮的國家平均每人需要花44美元才能獲得一小套高質量的醫療保健服務，但是很多國家只能為每人支付不到35美元的醫療保健費用。
